And another great painting, this time from Christopher Joseph Gonzalez: “It’s Acrylic on canvas 24″X 36″, I painted this painting during inauguration because of all the speeches that were going around I believed he was the one most out spoken, most entertaining to listen to, and could see that he wanted a new vision for our country.”
Karin Bruckner sent over a great mixed-media work: “Monotype Print made with Akua Kolor and Intalgio waterbased inks on Hahnemuehle monoprint paper and printed on an etching press. Sales tages were used for printing, embossing and collaging. Embossing highlighted with pencil drawing. Obama image added by ink transfer. Letters and numbers stencilled with ink. Meant to memorialize a momentous election.”
Brad and Rattana Gordon sent in this great lithograph: “Teo + Namfah Gallery, a contemporary art gallery, is working with internationally renowned Belgian-born Bangkokian artist, Christian Develter. Develter’s latest lithograph is of President Barack Obama. The mood of the image captures the optimism about President Obama’s presidency – inspirational for people of all origins and countries. Develter chose this particular pose with a cigar with several connections in mind – e.g., JFK and Cuba.” See the full image inside…
Thanks to everyone who sent this in respose to yesterday’s title “More than meets the eye”. I did not even think about the connection – even if i had, this sticker was new to me so thanks!
Andrew Newman sends this in: “The day after Barack Obama was elected, I realized that if I stacked the word CHANGE on three lines, I could extract the word CAN by using a different color. I then added WE within the letter H. The letterforms were adjusted so that the three lines were equal visually.” Another version inside.
Josh Wisdumb writes in: “Hello, I made this portrait in hopes that I can someday deliver it personally as a housewarming gift to the Obama’s. I’d appreciate your feedback. Thank you” Well Josh… thanks for sharing. This is a very interesting composition. Everyone needs to check out the details of this work!
