Kathy Osler sends us this: “Here is a more quiet, impressionist take on Obama in my father’s oil portrait, ‘The Power of Hope’.” Thanks for sending this in. Readers can visit johnosler.com to see more of John’s great work.

This awesome thing you see below is from a poster that was sent to us by reader Greg Kinney. The limited edition poster was created by Joseph Griffith and is currently for sale on his site Peach Stapler. Jump inside to see the full poster.

Jerry Breen says: “Here are two very different portraits of President-elect Obama that I recently completed. The first is a new addition to a series of unique calligraphy portraits that I’ve done over the years. My calligraphy portrait of Barack Obama “In His Own Words” is literally that - Obama’s own words, from his eloquent keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, rendered by hand in calligraphy, actually form his portrait!” Jump inside to see the second image…

On this festive day, a food related post seems fitting. Layron DeJarnette sends this in: “…a photo of some Obama logo cupcakes that my wife made for an Obama victory party on Nov 4th. They’re red velvet cupcakes with food coloring sprayed on to create the logo.” Yum!
One more great poster from DesignForObama. Color Blind by dumbrobot: “based on the Ishihara tests for colorblindness. if even you’re not colorblind, there’s still hope.” No matter what happens, the Obama logo will remain a magnificent example of graphic design.

Susan Gepford send in a great painting “The original piece is 9×12. It’s mixed media with watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, pastel primer, and pastel. Obama has allowed me to believe again that politics can be less about name calling and more about mature open debate, and I’ve really got my fingers crossed for tomorrow.”
Welcome to The Art of Obama - where the art is political and updated daily. Take a look around, leave some comments, or send us your art and photos.
