Change (There are plenty of heroes in this story)

Friday, November 13th, 2009 | 1 Comment »

Andy Thomas sent in this truly amazing and inspiring painting: “… An African-American runs for President, not as a “Civil Rights” candidate but as an American… But, before that could happen, John Jay fought against slavery, Harriet Tubman led the helpless to freedom, Frederick Douglas influenced Abe Lincoln…” Jump inside for the rest.

“iN THOUGHT”

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 | 4 Comments »

This just in from Ronald Freeman “… an oil painting on canvas 36″ x 48″. I painted this during Barak’s inauguration. It moved me to create something that would immortalized him. Like music, ART is there for all to see, feel and embrace. It moves each of us in different ways. I hope this image moves people and especially our children to create something that will last a lifetime and beyond. Peace and Love”

I decided to paint it as one of my daily paintings. It took about 4 hours to create. It is an oil painting on 8″x10″ canvas.”

Mixed Messages

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008 | 1 Comment »

This one came in from a reader “sd335908” with unfortunatly no information attached. It appears to be charcoal on canvas and centers Obama between a montage of mixed images – everything from an emerging butterfly to the a-bomb and Hitler. It makes me feel a bit overwhelmed. Not quite sure what the message is supposed to be.
