John Hart of nanobliss decided to take our president-elect’s face to a whole new frontier: “Each face is made of approximately 150 million tiny carbon nanotubes; that’s about how many Americans voted in the 2008 presidential election. Winner in the Manifest Hope Gallery contest. By Lisa Marie Regan from Tulsa, OK: “The words and designs are hand-cut from recycled steel with a hand-held plasma torch, then buffed and welded together onto a steel rod. It stands 82″ high, 44″ across, and is about 6″ deep. The base and the post weigh about 30 lbs. each. The post slides down into the base in two places; It is quite sturdy. Lisa has been sculpting in metal for over ten years, and you can see more of her creations at gardendeva.com.” Auctioned for $3,550.00

Finalist in the Manifest Hope Gallery show. By Heather Courtney from San Jose, CA: “This is a handcrafted Barack Obama Jack-in-the-box toy by Heather Courtney at Pop Art Creations.  The box is wooden and handpainted with words of Hope and Change.  Little Barack is sculpted from polymer clay, as are all the flowers on the inside of the box.  This is a working, musical jack-in-the-box toy and the handcrank tune plays, “You Light Up My Life”.” Auctioned for $905.50
