Am I Experienced?

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 | No Comments »

From Dereck ‘Demitrio’ Cruz: “This Jimi Hendrix/Barack Obama piece raises the question at hand – Is Barack Obama experienced enough to run this country? It is neither for nor against, but rather art doing what art does best – Making one think, feel or react in a certain way.”

United/Change

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 | 2 Comments »

Winner in the Manifest Hope Gallery contest. By Shawn Hazen from Chicago, IL: “This bold, graphic poster illustrates two of the most crucial themes of Obama’s campaign: Change (a change from the current administration’s reckless policies) and Unity, (the need for the country to take charge of this election and our country) through a literal “play on words.” It brings to life both ideas through typographic play: “Change” is created the word United actually changing as the letters progress down the print. Unity is created by the typographic progression that links the two words. The finished poster is 18″ x 24″. The image is roughly 13-3/16″ x 17-9/16″ on an 18″ x 24″ sheet.” Auctioned for $2,650.00

Finalist in the Manifest Hope Gallery show. By Ben Dutro from San Francisco, CA: “Tired of all this red-state blue-state nonsense? Same here. Fortunately you can satisfy both the pro-donkey and pro-pachyderm crowd with this cuter-than-average political poster. Selected as a finalist for MoveOn.org’s “Manifest Hope” gallery, all proceeds from the sale of this piece will be sent directly to Barack Obama’s campaign. The poster is sized 12″ x 16″, and is a high quality print using Canon LUCIA pigment inks, which according to Wilhelm Research, will last you a couple hundred years if you take care of it. Numbered one of only ten and signed, it will arrive to your doorstep unmounted and carefully protected.” Auctioned for $560.00
