Finalist in the Manifest Hope Gallery show. By Aaron Foster from Los Angeles, CA: “Each state is cut from an authentic license plate from that state. Illinois is made from a 1961 plate, which represents the year Barack Obama was born. Many of the plates are 30-40 years old, or more. It is 62 x 40, weighs about 50 lbs, and the plates are mounted on a background of painted pine boards. It is wired for hanging. I have been making art from vintage license plates for 7 years and have nearly 100 designs in my collection.” Auctioned for $4,500.00
