The Daily Cougar news site has a nice little article on a recent art exhibit at the Houston Galleria. “Last weekend at the Houston Galleria, Red Bull premiered its free “Red Bull Art of Can” exhibit. The exhibit celebrates all things Red Bull and features 47 works of art… Sergio Aleman, an architectural industrial design major, created a Red Bull portrait of Barack Obama. Titled “Vote,” it consists of multiple layers of Red Bull chads.”

Spotted in scot lefavor’s photostream, we see a giant paste up of Barack Obama on the side of a house. It would be easy to confuse the proportions, but luckily this dude helps us out.

After yesterday’s post about political t-shirts for dogs… well, all of the animal lovers started to write in. Reader Jerry snt in this image: “My mother emailed this to me last week. She didn’t take it, but found it somewhere online. Sorry, I know how you like to give credit.” (more…)

Spotted in bradthedesigner’s photostream. Personally, I think that it is a cool idea. Brad instead decides to make fun of the stance portrayed: “This is how Obama can win Middle America! Obama Yard Art! Imagine Obama speaking to 200,000 Germans right in your own front yard! “

A reader (thanks Gordie!) sent these shots in – they were mailed to him, so if you know the origin, please let us know. By the style, I would suspect that they were done by the same barber, but who knows. I only wish my hair looked this good.

Ran across this caricature in Nick Leonard’s photostream. It’s not pretty. It’s not supportive. And it could easily be considered racist. So why are we featuring it here? Well it is a great example about how this campaign has affected the art community. Love him, or hate him – Obama has inspired people to create.

Save a bumper

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 | No Comments »

Since we’ve been on a car kick these last few days… Here is a great way to save your bumper. All it takes is a little soap, maybe some dry-erase marker. “Believe in Obama, Hon” was spotted in i zimbra’s photostream.

Welcome to The Art of Obama - where the art is political and updated daily. Take a look around, leave some comments, or send us your art and photos.
