Many, many, many readers have been sending this in, so I guess that it is time to run it. Recently the New York Post ran a political cartoon by Sean Delonas. To many it clearly compared President Obama, the author of the stimulus bill, to the 200lb chimp that was recently shot to death after attacking a woman.
Lets start this momentious day off right! Spotted on Etsy in the form of a t-shirt, this graphic: “shows what most of America has been thinking for the last 8 years! George Bush is barely a step above the friendly, but not-so-intelligent, chimp and certainly many steps below the 21st Century Intellect of Barack Obama. This design is an ORIGINAL concept by Isotope Design and Illustrated by Yasemin Ezberci.”
It was bound to happen, since portraits of of Obama have been created in almost every other style. I am surprised that it took this long, but at least it was done well. Several readers have pointed us to to an article on BoingBoing about an interesting little cartoon: “It seems like an appropriate enough cartoon. The depiction of the president elect Barack Obama with the US flag behind him and the bubble quoting Obama as saying the change has come to Washington.” However it has sparked some controversy.
Bensonn Anspach has created an entire blog devoted to drawing MemeBots, cartoon robots with themes “that are sometimes topical and sometimes nonsensical”. Sure enough, many of the recent posts have been Obama related.
Karen writes in about the following cartoon that was featured in the Oregonian newspaper: “Thought you might be interested in this cool political cartoon…I bought about 5 of these for family members yesterday.” It was created by Jack Ohman and prints are on sale.
On this festive day, a food related post seems fitting. Layron DeJarnette sends this in: “…a photo of some Obama logo cupcakes that my wife made for an Obama victory party on Nov 4th. They’re red velvet cupcakes with food coloring sprayed on to create the logo.” Yum!
