Michael Woodman sent in some art in a whole new medium – glass! The following is a fused glass tile that he created: “Size 7″x5″. I did of Sen. Obama. It will most likely be mounted into a 11″ square shadowbox.”

Even the haters are creating art

Ran across this caricature in Nick Leonard’s photostream. It’s not pretty. It’s not supportive. And it could easily be considered racist. So why are we featuring it here? Well it is a great example about how this campaign has affected the art community. Love him, or hate him – Obama has inspired people to create.

Huge in Chinatown

Located all around the San Fransisco Chinatown – a black and white Obama stands proud. Behind him is the power of the rising sun. Below, two characters of traditional Chinese.  I figured that it spelled “hope” or “progress” or one of the usual phrases. Sure enough, a college from China confirmed that the literal translation translation is “moving forward”.
