Engraving Obama

Saturday, November 29th, 2008 | 1 Comment »

Here is an incredible piece of work from Antar Dayal: “The portrait of Senator Obama as it comes to live on my Kaolin coated scratchboard. After the image area is coated with black China Ink fine lines are engraved into the surface sculpting shadows and highlights.”

Simple love

Spotted in theres no way home’s photostream. This photograph shows a very simple poster that has been wrapped around a metal light pole. The photo is a bit fuzzy and the poster very simplistic in nature – yet it conveys quite a bit of emotion.

Next, lets look at the elegantĀ  work of Larry Roibal: “I created this piece for the Obama campaign. It’s created entirely of words and issues important to the campaign. If you visit my site, print out the fragment, tile them together and send in a pic, I will feature you on the site. Enjoy!!”

This is probably just the first of several poster that we are going to feature from the Design/ers for Obama site. By a user called mcmurtrey (no other info given): “Playing off the common phrase used in the design world talking about the latest neutral color, e.g. ‘Orange is the new black’.”

Reader Allison sent us a link to this rockin AC/DC themed poster by Jamey Erickson. The poster is in the Poster Offensive’s photostream. Check out the set or PO’s website for lots of other great political work. This is just a section of the poster. Jump inside to see why we zoomed in.

Spotted in scot lefavor’s photostream, we see a giant paste up of Barack Obama on the side of a house. It would be easy to confuse the proportions, but luckily this dude helps us out.
