Spotted in simongman’s photostream: “A celebration of history in the making. A history man. This art piece was created using traditional art techniques fused with illustrator files that i drew up then worked up in photoshop. I saw examples of Johns Flag paintings in the MOMA and Shepherd’s stickers on the streets of New York. This was a few days before Obama was elected into power last October whilst on a visit to NYC. As an Englishman I have always been fascinated by the art and culture of the United States.

Since producing this piece I have found out that the flag when hung vertically must have the field of stars on the top left. Have done a version with the field of stars top left, which can be found on my flickr photostream.
