In His Own Words

Jerry Breen says: “Here are two very different portraits of President-elect Obama that I recently completed. The first is a new addition to a series of unique calligraphy portraits that I’ve done over the years.  My calligraphy portrait of Barack Obama “In His Own Words” is literally that – Obama’s own words, from his eloquent keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, rendered by hand in calligraphy, actually form his portrait!” Jump inside to see the second image…

Gallery of Heroes

The second portrait is an acrylic-on-canvas painting of President Obama in the Oval office. It’s the latest addition to my “Gallery of Heroes” portrait collection at Gerstell Academy, a private school in Finksburg, Maryland. President Obama’s portrait joins over 175 others in the halls of the school. It is possibly the largest collection of portrait paintings by one artist in one place in the world. To view more of my Gerstell Academy portraits, check out my “Portraits” page at www.newbreen.com/portraitart.html .
