Finalist in the Manifest Hope Gallery show. By Patrick Haemmerlein from Los Angeles, CA: “Mixed media and graphic designer Patrick Haemmerlin is compiling a database of imagery to simulate the urban experience. What started with obsessive photographic cataloging moved into graphic design, as he took influence from native urban art forms of graffiti and tagging, and eventually into mixed media painting and collage with found objects. His work captures the urban idealism of imperfect beauty, and while replicating the chaos and assaultive commotion of city life, reminds us to stop and appreciate the grotesque, yet endearing details that make urban living so appealing.” Artist chose not to auction this painting.
