T-shirts + hot chicks

A lot of Obama art out there is making it’s way on to t-shirts and other clothing. The one featured here is nothing special – what caught my eye was company’s advertising. Jump inside for a more risqué photo, as well as some background information concerning that logo on her shirt. It ruffled some feathers all by itself.

The Ad

This is the image that first “aroused” my attention.

See more at the Hotness Factory. And while you are there check out the “damn kids” McCain shirt. It made me laught. By the way, hotness factory is not a sponsor of this site – they just caught my eye.

The logo controversy

The image on the left is a logo that you can find featured on the Obama website, on his podium during speeches and on the previously mentioned t-shirt.  The problem (some people say) is that it too closely represents the official president’s seal, featured right.

They make this claim based on 18 USC Sec. 713 which begins:

Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

However, Mark Nickolas pointed out a funny little addition on his blog Political Base: Although the republican party is screaming the loadest about this “illeagal likeness”, the National Republican Senatorial Committee already uses three different likenesses of the official seal for…fundraising purposes.
